This past weekend, I made 2 doll cakes. The first doll cake I made was for our friend Blake’s birthday. Originally, he was joking around saying that he wanted an Elsa cake for his birthday. Well, it sure backfired on him because I made him this cute cake! It took me almost 3 hours to make it – 1 hour of baking and cooling, and 2 hours to figure out how to decorate it.
For this cake, I used Duncan Hines Triple Fudge Chocolate cake mix and vanilla buttercream for the filling. I pretty much followed the same instructions I used for the Sailor Moon cake I did but added an extra 8″ cake layer since the doll was taller. And instead of taking off the doll’s legs, I just made a circular hole in the middle of the cake before I frosted it.
Happy birthday, Blake! I’m glad you loved the cake.
